The Paws in the Park Event in Taft

The paws in the park event was not as eventful as I'd hoped...I was surprised that the turnout was so minimal (even for Taft)! I was grateful for the experience however, because I'd never had to make a booth so designing and arranging a presentation was good practice for any future event I may be invited to! I guess in trying to find a silver lining...I also have a good amount of product now considering I'd sewn a little over 30 new collar and leash combo sets over my spring break from teaching! It is going to take me forever to upload all the new product...but now that summer school is over I can start working on that for you! Stay posted! :)

Need a new Collar or Leash???

Hey everybody! I apologize for being so distant these past months but the life of a teacher is very busy! However, I wanted to drop a quick note to everyone to let you know that I have actually been quite busy sewing over spring break and have lots of new designs!!! I was invited to be a vendor at an upcoming event called "Paws in the Park" that is sponsored by the Westside Humane Society in Taft, CA. So if any of you live nearby or don't mind a 20-30 minute drive from Bakersfield and have some free time this Saturday, April 25th from 11:00am--3:00pm come on out to Veterans Memorial Park in Taft! I will be there with my new product so you can browse the expanded selection of matching collars and leashes and even key chains!!! Bring your dog(s) and join into the day's events and festivities all the while supporting a great cause with every purchase or donation!!! Looking forward to seeing you there!

These all have fancy embroidered ribbon overlays (a woven type of ribbon) and heavy duty hardware, Quick Links, and leash clips for carefree outings! These leashes also have a NEW feature that was requested by some of my return customers!!! It has a convenient short handle down near the heavy duty metal snap hook for times when you need your dog to be right at your side (i.e.: when you are crossing a street) all without having to wrap the leash over and over around your hand to try and shorten the leash!

Ok...to all of you who tend to "check-in" on me to see what new designs I've been up to...I apologize for taking forever!!! In my defense, I'm a teacher and now that school has begun my sewing hours have been replaced with hours of grading papers and lesson planning (I assure you, not nearly as fun!). I actually do have some new designs completed but thanks to Ginger (my 6 month old puppy) eating through some of my computer wires it has been VERY difficult borrowing computer time from family and friends to upload photos and type out the descriptions for the collars and leashes...but I will do my best to get them up soon. In the meantime...thank you for visiting and being so patient...gotta get to the dog park now before the girls get to hyper!

For years I've been like every other dog owner...I go to the pet stores and pay $15-20 dollars for a generic collar that 10 other dogs at the park already have. Or I'm the one searching the Internet for hours finally settling on a collar and then get mad when I see the outrageous shipping fees...not to mention the torturous wait for the package in the mail! I'm hoping to serve a local population of friends and family so that I can actually make in person-type of deliveries (like at the dog parks)...thus eliminating shipping charges and taxes while giving people the instant gratification of having their unique collars as soon as humanly possible! If you don't see anything you like let me know what colors or designs you are wishing for and I'll try to create it for you! I'm constantly creating new designs...I don't want to make more than a couple of each so that you really will be getting a unique collar, making your dog as original as their personalities!

So my first happy customer is a 4 month old beautiful female black lab puppy named Dakota. Her family picked out 2 different collars that adjusted from 12-18 inches so they will grow along with their puppy. Like most puppies the act of sitting still for a picture is tough so her mom snapped these shots of her and her new collars while she was eating! Thanks to my quick links she is able to sport a different collar in seconds which is a good thing because puppies get dirty fast! Luckily if you pop them onto the top shelf in the dishwasher they come out as good as new and ready to wear! Thanks Again!

My sister Sherry and her husband Matt had a very difficult time coming to a decision on which collars to choose. Matt chose the camouflage collar for their male dog named, Blue and Sherry chose the collar with a medley of greens (one of her favorite colors) for their female dog named, Liberty. Now they are awaiting the matching leashes and maybe even harnesses (which I'm still working on)! Thanks so much!
